The Malta Digital Innovation Authority (MDIA) is issuing the application forms for Service Providers and Innovative Technology Arrangements Applicants to apply for registration and certification respectively.

Issued Guidelines

The Malta Digital Innovation Authority (MDIA) is issuing a set of guidance notes aimed at assisting Service Providers and Innovative Technology Arrangements Applicants when approaching the MDIA for registration and certification respectively.

The guidelines reflect clarifications and rationalise some processes which arose from the public consultation as well as in the formulation of the said guidelines. These are expected to be reflected and implemented as required in the ITAS Act.

MDIA 2.0 is born! 🌐

The Malta Digital Innovation Authority (Amendment) Bill was declared by the Speaker of the House of Representatives as unanimously approved by Parliament.

The Bill will be presented to the President of Malta for her assent and will be published in the Government Gazette, thus becoming a Parliamentary Act.

Main highlights:

🔵 Malta will continue to be at the forefront in its preparedness to implement the EU AI Act and other EU regulations on data and cybersecurity;

🔵 The term ‘innovative technology’ is amended to support technology neutrality in line with recent advancements in policy and technology;

🔵 The MDIA’s functions are revised to sustain nimble processes, independence, partiality, proportionality, good governance and transparency;

🔵 The terms ‘System Auditor’ and ‘Certifications’ are replaced with a wider scope of service providers and recognitions.

It was an opportunity to showcase Malta and promote its characteristics to interested parties.
